Recommended video export settings

The best file format and size for your sermon upload, and how to avoid common audio problems.

The right file means a faster upload and fewer problems. Here’s what to send us each week.

The ideal file

  • Format: MP4, with H.264 video and AAC audio

  • Resolution: 1080p (1920x1080) or 4K (3840x2160). If your video resolution is lower, we'll work with whatever you have for us!

  • Frame rate: whatever you recorded at (30, 29.97, 60, etc.)

  • Size: roughly 3–8 GB for an hour of video is plenty

  • Clean feed with no lower-thirds or full-screen graphics.

What to avoid

  • Raw recorder files (for example from a Blackmagic HyperDeck or uncompressed/ProRes exports). These can be 40+ GB and take a very long time to upload. Export a compressed MP4 first if possible.

  • Several files when one will do.

"What if I don't have a clean feed?"

Bottom line: we will work with whatever file we receive from you. If you have lots of full-screen graphics during your service, we recommend selecting the Black Background style so we can show the graphics on screen in a natural way.

If you have lots of lower third graphics, we'd highly recommend selecting the Lower Third style. That style covers the lower third with one of your church's brand colors to remove any lower thirds that might be distracting.

Check your audio before uploading

Most of the problems we see are audio problems, not video. Before you upload, play a minute from the middle of the sermon and confirm:

  • you can clearly hear the speaker

  • the audio is your soundboard mix, not a camera’s built-in microphone

Give each week’s file a unique name

Include the date, for example 2026-10-25 Sermon.mp4. Uploading Video.mp4 every week makes it easy to mix up one week’s sermon with another’s.

Whole service or just the sermon?

Either is fine. We’ll find the sermon. Sending only the sermon makes your upload smaller and faster.
